Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy in Wausau, WI, providing a personalized treatment plan tailored to meet your unique needs. Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy (BHRT) is a treatment approach that uses hormones that are chemically identical to those naturally produced by the body. BHRT is commonly used to help address symptoms associated with hormonal imbalance, particularly during perimenopause and menopause.
Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy is not one-size-fits-all. Our process focuses on individualized care for hormone imbalance that involves a multifaceted approach including comprehensive lab testing, lifestyle modifications, nutritional support, stress management, and bioidentical hormone replacement therapy (if indicated).
Menopause/Perimenopause: The most common use of bioidentical hormone replacement therapy is to treat the symptoms of perimenopause and menopause in women. These can include hot flashes, night sweats, vaginal dryness, sleep problems, fatigue, weight gain, loss of muscle mass, brain fog, and mood changes.
Loss of Bone Density: Postmenopausal osteoporosis affects many women during the first decade following menopause. Bones become brittle, fragile, and easily fractured. BHRT may help reduce bone loss and lower osteoporosis risk.
Heart Health: Bioidentical hormone replacement therapy can help with heart health by addressing hormone imbalances that impact cardiovascular function. BHRT can improve lipid function by increasing HDL (“good” cholesterol) and lowering LDL (“bad cholesterol”). It can help by promoting better blood flow and maintaining vascular elasticity.
Urogenital/Sexual Dysfunction: Bioidentical hormone replacement therapy may help with vaginal dryness in women, urinary incontinence, and decreased libido.
Muscle and Strength Loss: Women can lose muscle mass and strength as hormone levels decrease. Hormone replacement can help patients continue enjoying their favorite sports and activities.
Mood Disorders: Hormonal changes in menopause can cause or worsen mood swings, anxiety disorders, or depression. Bioidentical hormone replacement therapy has been shown to improve mental clarity, concentration, and emotional stability. It also supports healthy sleep habits and improves sleep quality.
Bioidentical hormone replacement therapy can benefit many people as they age and experience a drop in hormone levels
Bioidentical hormone replacement therapy is not right for everyone. Not everyone gets symptoms as they get older; if you do not, there is no need to be on medication. The potential risks and side effects can vary from individual to individual, based on patient’s medical history and lifestyle. Make sure you disclose if you:

Labs are completed through our clinic for a $250 flat fee or we can provide you with a lab order to use at an external facility if you are interested in submitting to your insurance.
Includes ongoing management, follow-up appointments, medication (estrogen and/or progesterone) and future labs when indicated. Additional peptides and alternative therapies are not included in this monthly cost
DHEA is normally produced in our body in the adrenal glands. It is a key player in women’s health. DHEA is a hormone that plays a crucial role in various bodily functions including energy levels, mood regulation, libido, bone health, and overall well-being. Taking DHEA can encourage your body to maintain healthy hormone production.
Low-dose Naltrexone is an opiate antagonist used to modulate the immune system and aid in addressing a variety of symptoms. It works by briefly blocking opioid receptors, which may lead to a rebound increase in the body’s natural endorphins. The boost in endorphins promotes healing, regulates immunity, provides pain relief, and reduces inflammation. Low dose naltrexone can be beneficial during perimenopause and menopause by improving brain fog and cognitive function, improving sleep quality, decreasing chronic pain, promoting healthy weight, and improving symptoms associated with polycystic ovarian syndrome.

Over the past 15 years, I have spent countless hours discussing the importance of weight loss with my patients through a healthy well balanced diet; exercise, and enjoying food in moderation. And while these recommendations still ring true, many continue to struggle to shift the scale in their favor. And while many people will put their best foot forward and try their very best, they just don’t see the results that they are looking for. This often leads to frustration and many people fall back into old habits and routines.
